The Cross and Flame logo is a registered trademark, and the use is supervised by the General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) of the United Methodist Church. el portal
On May 13, 1953, El Portal began as a monthly newsletter. From the first issue: "The name chosen 'El Portal,' meaning 'The Door,' suggests both the local setting and the religious significance of the publication" (see John 10:7). For many year it was a weekly publication that acts as an open door to the ministry of Torrance First. Current publication is bi-weekly due to budget challenges.
This website, created in May 1997, will continue to move El Portal into the future as a door to what is happening both locally and globally. On the NEWS page of our website you will find content that includes news and information about, or of interest to, the local church, as well as audio content with weekly sermons and meditations.
design
The design of this site is based on the Cutline theme for WordPress with a few modicications of our own. This design was chosen in part due to the author's use of valid xhtml code. We strive to maintain this website as standards compliant.
